Bernard Klem Tribute

Bernard Klem, 83, of Trumbull, sadly passed away on December 27th 2018. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 2, 1935, the son of Jack and Sylvia Klem.

Bernard attended Clark University, where he met the love of his life, Rosalind. Soon after graduation, they happily married and Bernard started his service in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany, which gave him the opportunity to travel throughout Europe.

After military service, he and Rosalind lived in New York City for many years. He worked at the United Nations, Citibank and Forbes magazine to name a few. Moving to the suburbs of Westchester to start a family, Bernard also began his own successful graphics design company, which he ran for many years.

He was a devoted husband, son, brother, father and grandfather. Bernard adored his grandsons and was lovingly known to them as “Papa.” He was always ready to help and lend a hand whenever child care was needed and loved to read and play with his three grandsons.

Although retired, Bernard was an active volunteer at the Trumbull Library. He loved spending time at the library. His passion of reading led him to start writing and through determination he was able to get his first book published. He was very proud of the three books he wrote and got real pleasure seeing his books at the local stores.

He and Rosalind loved to travel and were fortunate to explore the world together. Bernard was an avid photographer as well and loved to put together their travel albums. They also enjoyed exploring art galleries, restaurants, museums and historical landmarks on their many journeys together.

He leaves behind his cherished sister, Barbara Feiven and her husband Raymond. His two sons, Laurence Klem and Jordan Klem and his wife Michelle. He will also be sadly missed by his three loving grandsons, Aaron, Adam and Kyle.
