Donna Kaye Ericson of Casa Grande, Arizona (formerly of Meriden, Connecticut), died on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden.
Donna Kaye was born in Meriden on January 2, 1943 to Donald and Dorothy Ericson. She grew up in Meriden and attended Platt High School, class of 1961. She was a member of Rainbow through the Masonic Temple and earned the title of Worthy Advisor. She was active in her high school drama department, where she starred in a production of Our Miss Brooks.
Donna Kaye married Leon Ziobrowski in 1966, and they had two children. She was a stay-at-home mom until her divorce when she entered the workforce. Donna Kaye had a strong a work ethic and, after over 30 years of service for the City of Meriden, she retired in June 2011. She loved her family and friends fiercely. She loved cooking and eating food (especially Pepe's pizza). Donna Kaye was seldom without either the scent of Chanel #5, the color green or wearing a butterfly.
In April 2014, she relocated to "warm and sunny" Casa Grande, Arizona. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement, entertaining and playing games. She traveled and was active in her community at Casa Verde Estates. She had big personality with a great smile and bold laugh. Donna Kaye was known for being a loving mother, maintaining a constant sense of humor and having no middle ground. She either loved you or she hated you, but if you were one of the lucky to be loved, oh how lucky you were.
The people missing Donna Kaye the most are her daughter, Julia Ziobrowski and Julia's husband Michael Gettings Jr., Marc (nephew) and Jennifer Tressel, David Tressel, JT Tressel, Melissa Perkal and James Graham, Allison Graham, Aubrey Graham, Amy Zinck (niece), Bernadette (cousin) and Matthew Pikus and Daniel Mordarski (nephew). To them, she would say, "Thank you, thank you, very much!" Donna Kaye was predeceased by her sisters, Elaine Keyes and Cheryl Lyn Tressel.
