Deidre Nix Tribute

Deidre Anne Nix, born June 18, 1949 in St. Albans, New York, who resided at Wolcott Hall Nursing Home since 1997 was taken to the Lord on September 6, 2019.

Deidre more affectionately known as Dee or Dee Dee was a strong-willed person with the biggest heart and love for all.  She received great strength and joy from her Christian faith.  Despite her physical challenges, she looked at life with joy and wonder.  She loved light houses and had a large collection of them.  She also like to paint, and the lighthouses were the main subject of her paintings.  She was kind and loving to everyone she met.  She always wanted to help people, so she sponsored a child through the Save the Children Organization.

She was inspired by the life God gave her and wrote poetry to reflect her love of life, people and God.  She was even published. She rarely complained and thought of other people before herself.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Florence (Johnson) Nix and her brother David Nix. She is survived by her sisters Tara & (Christopher) Wood, Ruth & (Roland) Leder and her brother Beau & (Brigette) Nix.  Also, her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many cousins.

But a HUGE thank you goes out to the place she called home and the wonderful caring and love she received from all the nurses, aides, kitchen staff, maintenance staff and housekeeping staff and office staff who were a major part of her life and whom she also considered family for the past 22 years.

She was so loved and will be greatly missed.  Rest in Peace, Dee.
