Mary Scott “Scottie” (Dayton) Reding, 81 passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018.

Beloved daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Theodore Dayton of Redding, CT, Scottie was born in Halifax, Novia Scotia on January 6, 1937. She graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon School in Mount Hermon, MA. Scottie worked for Yale University School of Medicine, Pediatric Cardiology for more than 35 Years.

She will be missed and is survived by her children Cynthia & her husband Thomas Lombardo, Charles Reding, Bruce Reding & his wife Madelyn and Sarah & her husband Warren Rice, her sisters Deborah Scoblick and Patricia Mason.  She is predeceased by her loving daughter Deborah Scott, and her brothers Robert and Harold Lockhart.  She leaves behind her grandchildren, Robbie, Justin, Trevor, Cody, Brittany, Scott, Jamie Lynn, Shaymarie, and Rachel, and eight great-grandchildren.  She was an avid lover of the outdoors and nature.  Always by her side, her sweet dogs, Sammy and Daisy.

Services will be officiated by Reverend Shannon Wall at Oxford Congregational Church at 11:00am on Friday, April 6, 2018, 3 Academy Road, Oxford, CT, followed by Reception and Celebration of Life at Brookside Inn, 231 Oxford Road, Oxford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary Scott’s name to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
