Jason S. Scaplen

Jason S. Scaplen, 37, of East Hampton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 18, 2026. He was born August 14, 1988 in Middletown, CT.

Jason loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed tinkering and riding his tractors. The thought of being by the water brought him peace. When Jason wasn't fishing ,he would be spending time with family and friends. Jason had a way to make people smile even on the toughest of days. Jason always put family and friends first and helped anyone in need.

He was predeceased by his mother, Cathy Lyman. Jason is survived by his daughter Makayla, his father Allan Scaplen, brother Michael Lyman & his wife Missy of Massachusetts, and his brother Christopher Scaplen of East Hampton. He also leaves behind two nephews Michael and Matthew Lyman, whom he loved unconditionally, and shared his love for the outdoors, teaching the boys how to fish. Jason loved his cousins, which are too many to list.

A celebration of Life will be organized at a later date for family and friends.
