Joel C. Heineken passed away on January 8, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Joel was born on January 30, 1960 in Norwalk, CT where he spent his formative years. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1978 and later became a master carpenter and craftsman. Throughout his career he was known for his excellent workmanship and dedication to his trade.
But more than anything, Joel loved spending time with his family and cherished friends. He loved sharing stories, fishing, target shooting and particularly enjoyed playing croquet at family events.
Joel is survived by his children Rhiannon Heineken of Brookfield, CT, Kristyl Heineken of Ashland, OR and Joel R. Heineken of Arvada, CO. His grandchildren Danika Gesler and Berlin Gesler of Brookfield, CT. His siblings Christian (Rick) Heineken, MD and his wife Sheila Heineken, RN of Shelton, Connecticut, Lee Garstick and her husband Larry of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Clinton Heineken and his wife Christine of Elk Grove, California, Eric Heineken of Brookfield, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his father Christian A. Heineken, Sr. of Norwalk, CT and mother Alice H. Lauder of Norwalk, CT. Joel also leaves behind many beloved nieces, a nephew, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 E Wall Street, Norwalk, CT 06851
