John Denike of Monroe, age 76, passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2026. He was born in Bronx, NY on December 18, 1949 to Elizabeth and James Denike of Fairfield.
John is survived by his wife and soulmate Rebecca Denike, brother James Denike and his wife Paula, step-daughter Kelley Keane-McAlexander, and cherished grandchildren Mariah, Gavin, and Avery. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews Karen, Kim, Joe, Brian, and Chris.
John graduated from Sacred Heart University and he had a long, dedicated career with Perkin Elmer, SVG Lithography, and ASML. But his family always came first! He was passionate about sailing and music. Many days were spent sailing on Long Island Sound, or to Block Island and Newport, RI. In his youth, John loved playing bass guitar for two bands, The Hangmen and All Together. His other favorite musicians included The Band, the Beatles, and Eric Clapton. John will be greatly and deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 7th at 10am in the United Methodist Church of Monroe on 515 Cutlers Farm Road in Monroe, CT.
