John Walsh Tribute

John (Jack) Walsh, 86, of New Haven died January 15, 2021. After fighting cancer for several years, he died at the VAMC where he received excellent, compassionate care. Born in New Haven to Patrick and Kathleen Walsh.
He was a proud Marine, having served in combat during the Korean War. Educated at Quinnipiac College and graduated from the U.S. Maritime Academy.
Jack travelled the world for many years, serving as a captain in the Maritime Service. After retirement, he returned to Connecticut, where he enjoyed playing golf and touring New England. He was a member of the NH Gaelic Club and St. Mary Church.
Pre-deceased by siblings Mary Ellen and Thomas Walsh. He leaves lifelong friends Bill and Mary Lou Murphy, and sisters Eileen (John) Nerkowski, Patricia (Nick) Ferraro and their families. Services are private.
