With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Joseph "Joey" Pecoraro, who left this world on April 12, 2024. Born on August 27, 1938, Joey lived a life that was rich with laughter, art, and the occasional scam - a testament to his unique blend of grumpiness and humor.
Joey's longevity as an artist and larger-than-life personality left an indelible mark on those around him. His creative instincts and vision brought joy to many and stood as a testament to his boundless creativity. His loved ones will remember his wit most fondly, recounting the times when Joey, the eternal jokester, would fill their lives with laughter.
Joey is survived by his loving spouse, Linda Pecoraro, who was his steadfast companion in life. Together, they created a beautiful family with their children Stacey Meehan, Donna Rick, and Brian Meehan, who will continue to honor their father's legacy. His son-in-laws, Stephen Makowsky, and Hugh Rick, and daughter in law Caren Meehan, along with his grandchildren, Kristina Anson, Brandon Rick, Austin Rick, Caitlin Meehan and Douglas Meehan will also cherish Joey's memory, demonstrating the warmth and inclusivity Joey extended to all who knew him.
Joey's life was a masterclass in the art of living. He taught those around him the value of humor, even in the face of adversity. His life's teachable moments, while unconventional, constantly reminded us all of the importance of taking life lightly and finding joy in its idiosyncrasies. Joey's life was never dull, and he leaves behind a legacy as colorful as the art he created.
We invite those who knew and loved Joey to commemorate his life at a burial service on May 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the State Veterans Cemetery. As we say our farewells, we'll remember Joey with fondness, gratitude, and a smile, just as he would have wanted.
