Kevin Hoadley, 72, passed away peacefully in his home on January 19, 2026.
Kevin was born in New London County to Rose and Charles on January 21, 1953. He attended Valley Regional High School, where his talent and love for sports showed. He was a three-season athlete, playing varsity football, basketball, and baseball, and was highly regarded in the sports community at VRHS. He continued his love of sports during his time at Dean Junior College, where athletics and teamwork remained an important part of his life as he played varsity basketball. Kevin spent much of his post-collegiate working life in landscaping, taking pride in hands-on work. He enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors.
Kevin is survived by his two daughters, Christina Hoadley (32) and Elizabeth Hoadley (29); his sister, Catherine Poindexter; and his long-term partner of over 15 years, Victoria Shorey. Kevin loved his daughters, taking pride in their accomplishments and cheering them on at soccer games, swim practices, and more. After retiring, Kevin enjoyed playing gin rummy with Victoria and spending evenings watching Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Kevin will be remembered as strong-willed and generous, with a sense of humor and deep care for those he loved.
There will be no public services or viewing. Family and friends are invited to honor Kevin’s memory in their own way through a dedicated mass, service, prayer, or personal remembrance.
