LeRoy Middendorf Tribute

OAKVILLE – LeRoy J. Middendorf, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 23, 2024.

He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1958 and the University of Connecticut in 1972 and went on to build a life marked by love and devotion to his family and friends. He was the devoted husband of Beverly Middendorf, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.

Together, they resided in Oakville since 1968 and raised three sons, Michael Middendorf, Glenn Middendorf, and Tom Middendorf. LeRoy was also a loving father-in-law to Donna Middendorf and Jaye Middendorf. His legacy continues through his four grandchildren, Nicholas, Lauren (husband, Eamon), Dennis and Ryan, who were his pride and joys.

For more than 30 years, he worked in behavioral health, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of many. His compassion and commitment to helping others were evident in his professional and personal life. An avid baseball fan, he was a dedicated supporter of his beloved Boston Red Sox. He shared his passion for the sport by coaching Babe Ruth teams in Watertown, positively influencing many young athletes he coached.

LeRoy’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and whose lives he impacted. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cause close to his heart, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org/donate). Funeral services will be conducted privately, to honor his wishes, with his immediate family.
