Hamden, CT — Linda Sue Bolduc, 72, died on May 15th, 2024, exactly two weeks after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. As her twin sons Brian and Christopher each held one of her hands, she transitioned peacefully from this earth.
She was born Linda Bloom to Ruth and Seymour Bloom in New Haven, CT on Valentine’s Day. She graduated from James Hillhouse High School, and dreamed of attending art school but couldn’t afford it. She held many odd jobs in her younger years and spent most of her adult life cleaning houses and working at a toy store as a cashier.
Despite not having attended art school, Linda was an impressive artist, working across multiple mediums as a painter, drawer, and sculptor. Though she was shy about sharing her work, those who were lucky enough to see or even receive one of her works raved about her art.
Linda met her husband, Alain, through her sister Rosalinde and married on October 2, 1976. They had their first child, Adam in 1982, followed four years later by twins Brian and Christopher.
Linda was a dedicated caregiver, nursing her husband and two of her sons through severe illnesses. And even when she had little, she shared that little with others, often using her food stamps to give groceries to the unhoused who asked her for help. She had experienced adversity, but rather than be hardened by it, Linda was always generous with family and strangers alike.
She is survived by her sons, Adam of New Haven, and twins Brian and Christopher of Brooklyn, New York; her sister, Ilene Radin of Delray Beach, Florida; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her husband Alain and her sister Rosalinde Levine.
Those who wish to remember her are welcome to attend a celebration of life in the New Haven area that will showcase her artwork, with a date to be announced later. Her family will reach out with details once they are finalized. If you wish to monetarily support the family directly, consider making a donation to the GoFundMe set up right before her passing.
