Mrs. Magda Maggie A (Parrilla) Rizza, of Meriden, CT born on November 3, 1943 in Comerio, Puerto Rico, to Margarita (Hernandez) Parrilla and the late Graciniano Parrilla, passed away suddenly on August 8, 2018, due to an unexpected illness.
Magda graduated from Orville H. Platt High School in 1962. She then graduated from Cosmetology School and spent her career working alongside her mother as a Hair Dresser at several beauty salons throughout Meriden, CT until opening a family owned beauty shop, Margo’s Hair Center, while also working part time for the residents of CT Baptist Home.
Maggie’s kind heart, generous spirit and healing nature was truly a gift to behold. She was highly regarded by her lifelong customers, loved and respected by all the lives she touched.
Magda was the beloved wife of Ernest Rizza, Jr. She was preceded in death by her son, Antonio Antolini. Magda is survived by her daughter, Dawn Antolini; sisters, Margarita Ogorzalek, her husband Wayne and Magali Kupfer, and her husband Charles; grandchildren, Alysia Robinson, Nicholas Willette, Antonio Antolini, Rocco Antolini, Gabrielle Willette, and Alexandra Antolini; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Spencer, Cameron Spencer, Kaylee Spencer, and Briella Willette. She was loved deeply by her cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family as well. She also leaves behind her greatly loved cat, Kitty Kitty, weighing in at 16 lbs.
Friends and family members are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden, CT 06451.
