Mary Agnes Marinello 73, of Waterbury, CT, passed away on July 4, 2023. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary was born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 13, 1949, to Jacqueline and George Resch. Mary was the eldest of eight siblings, survived by Timothy Resch, George Resch, Mathew Resch, Melissa Amatucci, and Monica Kotzmann. She was predeceased by Martha Cottone and John Resch. Mary is survived by her daughters, Melissa Pattillo and Virginia Montini, and her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas and Anthony Montini, as well as Lillian Pattillo.

Mary started her career right after high school, working in New York City at a bank on Delancey Street. Later, she worked at McKinsey and Co. in midtown Manhattan, then Union Carbide. Finally, she worked at The Taft School in Watertown, CT until her retirement.

Mary loved lighthouses and the beach. She would spend weeks at Breezy Point, NY with her best friend, Angie Sarmuksnis, and in Port Charlotte, FL with her brother, Mathew and sister, Melissa. She also spent her retirement working with children as a volunteer at New Opportunities in Waterbury.

Mary enjoyed going to the YMCA and spending quality time going to concerts and taking walks with her friends. She loved watching baseball, especially her grandchildren play, and was a big fan of the New York Mets. She enjoyed collecting coupons and finding great deals. She loved Spumoni Gardens pizza in Brooklyn, and would order in bulk to bring home for her Connecticut family.

Mary was a loving and generous person who always put her family and friends first. In accordance with her wishes, Mary will be cremated, and her ashes will be spread in a private ceremony at Breezy Point, New York, alongside her daughters and grandchildren. This final act of remembrance will honor her love for the beach and ensure that her spirit forever remains connected to the places she held dear.
