Nancy Aust passed away on Thursday February 13, 2025, after a short illness. Born on December 14, 1942, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Chester and Margaret Browning, Nancy married the love of her life, Paul Aust, on November 25, 1961. Together, they raised three children in New Britain, Connecticut, before moving to Plantsville, Connecticut.
Her husband Paul passed away in 2001 and her brother Robert Browning passed away in 2024. She is survived by her sister Virginia Browning, son Richard Aust, daughter Frieda Aust, son Douglas Aust and his wife Tiffany; Her grandchildren, Jakob Aust and his wife Derrien, Rudy Aust, Lydia Aust, and Ty Aust; Great granddaughter Daphne Aust as well as several nieces and nephews.
Nancy attended college once her children were older and earned her B.S. in Finance. She went on to work in the tax department of The Security Insurance Group until she retired. A woman of many talents, Nancy had a deep love for sewing and crafting. She created clothes and accessories for family and friends, and even had a room dedicated to her craft. You would often find her quilting, crocheting, and doing counted cross stitch. Her children all had quilts made by her and she often gifted other projects to close family members.
There will be no services and burial will be private. Donations can be made in Nancy's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Association: Nancy Aust Honor Donations
