SOUTHINGTON – Rena Helen (Lemire) (Lawrence) Veronneau, 73 years old, passed peacefully into the loving arms of God, surrounded by her family and friends, on May 25, 2023, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Charles Veronneau.
Rena leaves behind her son Christopher Lawrence, and his girlfriend Erin; Christine Basil and her husband Jason; Michael Veronneau and his fiancee Renee; Patrick Veronneau and his wife Lauren. Rena has 11 grandchildren whom she adored dearly, McKenzie, Tyler, Sophia, Olivia, Matthew, Kenley, Madison, Lily, Luke, Cole, and Ella. Rena also leaves behind her loving brother Roger Lemire, and his wife Linda.
Rena courageously battled cancer for several years and she handled the illness with such grace. Every Tuesday for years was spent with her three best friends, going shopping or out to dinner. Rena was a petite lady with a big laugh, a huge heart and lots of love. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments. We are comforted in knowing she is now with Charlie, watching over all of us.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Saint Mary’s for their care and compassion while she was in their care.
At the request of Rena, there will be no calling hours, but there will be a gravesite ceremony on a later date. Any donations can be made to the Harold Leever Cancer Center at leevercancercenter.org.
