Rick was predeceased by his son, Richard M. Johnson, and a brother, Melvin L. Johnson.

Rick was born Feb. 17, 1945, in Hartford, son of the late Melvin B. and Grace (Parker) Johnson. He attended Wolcott High School and later joined the United States Air Force, where he served four years. Rick retired from a career of facility management and worked part time for the Wolcott Park Department/Peterson Park.

Rick was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards with “the guys” and loved watching sports, especially Yankees baseball. You could always count on him to bring comic relief to any situation – always ready with a joke or funny story – he loved to laugh.
