Rosemary Sirico Tribute

Rosemary Sirico, age 71, passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on January 7, 2026. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Rosemary was the beloved daughter of Louis and Joan (Trambarulo) Sirico. She grew up surrounded by faith and the warmth and love of her parents and siblings: Teresa Sirico, Mary Ann (Ralph) Stroup, Jean (Bill) Tsang, Lucy Sirico, and Phyllis (Sabino) San Juan. Rosemary's family circle also included her dear friend Bill Driscoll, sisters-in-law Patricia Brennan and Karen Sirico, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many friends.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Louis and Joseph. Their memories remained dear to her heart.

Rosemary devoted many years to educating students in New Haven, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Her passion for teaching was matched by the friendships she built with her colleagues. She was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, where she earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees, fueling her commitment to lifelong learning.

Some of Rosemary's happiest moments were spent on the water, especially boating on Long Island Sound. She often said that being on the water brought her peace. Rosemary found delight in life's simple pleasures-tinkering with tools, walking the shoreline, preparing homemade soups, and hosting family gatherings. She especially enjoyed hiking and traveling the world with Bill, her companion in adventure and joy. She had a zest for life and love for those around her.

Rosemary's spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. She touched many lives through her kindness, and wisdom. May the celebration of Rosemary's spirit remain forever in the hearts of those she walked beside.

A private family service will be held at a later date to honor Rosemary's memory.

Those wishing to pay tribute to Rosemary's legacy are invited to donate to Smilow Closer to Free Fund at YNHH or Save the Sound, an organization dedicated to protecting Long Island Sound-especially the areas near Milford, Connecticut, that Rosemary held so dear.
