Sharon Hardgrove Tribute

Sharon Dawn Hardgrove (Wright), 65, of Centerbrook, passed away of natural causes on October 11, 2023 at 8:07 am surrounded by loved ones as she gave her final gift of life.

Sharon surprised everyone right from the start, when she was born on July 2, 1958 shortly after her twin sister Karen, to Jenny and Louis Wright in Middletown, CT. Sharon was a lifelong resident of Centerbrook and was a long-time dedicated employee at Aggie's. She also spent many years as an in-home caregiver in addition to raising her family.

She cared deeply for her children and grandchildren; they were everything to her. She cherished time with family and friends on the CT River islands, in Vermont, and at the many gatherings where her home was a hub of laughter and memories. She enjoyed cooking for loved ones and sharing time together over a meal, as well as listening to music and singing along, especially during long car rides. She was always willing to open her home to those in need as a "bonus mom" to many.

Sharon was predeceased by her sisters Anita Baldoni and Myrna Goodrich, as well as her parents Jenny and Louis Wright. She is survived by her husband Everett Hardgrove, and children Roy Despres III and wife Jen, Jennifer Lagace and husband Rit, Katrina McCullough and husband Ryan, Candace Hardgrove, Kristen Watson and husband Skyler, and Shelby Lynn Meadows and husband Ian. She also leaves her legacy in her nineteen grandchildren who she deeply loved: Olivia, Brooke, Brynn, Jase, Haley, Reese, Ryder, Izzie, Penny, Elliott, Kaydence, Brady, Noah, Aubrey, Azi, Bri, Ginnie, Jordan, and Anson. Additionally, she leaves behind her twin sister Karen Strausser and her husband Harvey, as well as many nieces and nephews with whom she had special bonds.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at 4pm on Saturday, October 21st at Trinity Lutheran Church in Centerbrook, CT. Should friends desire, please consider making a donation to a local food bank to assist others in creating wonderful holiday meals with their family, as Sharon held holiday traditions so dear. Donations to organizations that support access to mental health services in our community would also be greatly appreciated.
