Stuart D. Leland

Stuart Leland, 83, of Wallingford passed away on Monday August 5th, 2024. He was born September 7th, 1940, in Bradenton, FL.

His parents were Roderic S Leland and Doris D Leland. He graduated from New Canaan High School in 1958 and Duke University in 1964 with a degree in civil engineering. He obtained his professional engineer license in 1968 and worked at the CT Department of Transportation for 40 years. His last position was the Director of Planning.

He is survived by his son, Scott and wife Anne of Lakewood Ranch, FL and his daughter Jennifer of Wallingford, CT. He was predeceased by his son, Christopher. He leaves five grandchildren and his brothers: Roderic Jr of Raleigh, NC and Alan of Durham, NC.

He was a member of the Exchange Club of South Windsor for 28 years and served as president in 1983. His interests included golf, vegetable gardening, stock market investing and restoring his 1749 house.

There will be no services per Stuart’s request.
