We would like to express our deepest consolences to all that knew and loved Tom. In our short periods of time together, it was clear that Tom was a sincerely kind and thoughtful man, and he had a wonderful smile!

Diane, I’m so sorry to read of Tom’s passing. I know he struggled for many years with health issues. I’ve known both of you since the early 70’s. Call me or email me if you want to talk.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Tom was one of the good guys at OWTS. Kids loved him. Staff respected him. I got to work closely with him as the Student Council advisor. He organized the annual OWTS Car Show for so many years, which he absolutely enjoyed. Ray Tanguay and I took over the Show in 2005 but it was always Tom's "baby". Through his efforts, he helped raise ten of thousands of dollars for the CT Childrens Medical Center. May he rest in peace now. God Bless.

Dear Diane,

I am so sad to hear that Tom passed away. I am sure this is a very difficult time for you.

I have fond memories of Tom. When you and he met and started dating, back when you were both still in high school, Tom and I became friends as well. I remember hanging out with him a lot, and sometimes the three of us together! That was a hoot. I didn't mind being the "third wheel".

I guess the thing I had in common with Tom (besides you) was our love of cars. We would hang out drinking beer and talking crap about which cars were the best for hours. One time when I was visiting Grandma, you and Tom stopped by as well. When I went to leave, my car wouldn't start and sounded like it was firing all wrong. Well, come to find out Tom had switched the plug wires all around to see if I could figure out the right way to put them back. Funny guy. We did stuff like that and it was ok.

I remember being elated when I found out you two were getting married so many years later. I remember the get-togethers at Mom's when Tom was there...we'd always have some car or car show to talk about.

I shared a couple of emails with Liz's son Brien about vintage VW restoration. He shared that he had been searching for some obscure VW part and ended up getting it from Tom. I guess Tom was a key to VW car shows and parts-finding for a lot of people.

All this is to say, I have many fond memories of Tom. As do many others.

I know he struggled with health issues, and you struggled to care for him in the recent years. The loss of a loved one is never easy or timely.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

Love,

Phil and Nancy
